Behind the Palette: Why We Chose Burgundy, Teal, Smoke & Desert Sun

When designing our debut collection, we wanted a colour story that felt both timely and timeless. Inspired by landscapes, interiors, and the enduring craft of saddlery, the Bow Launch Palette brings together four shades: Burgundy, Teal, Smoke, & Desert Sun.

These tones are bold enough to resonate right now, yet grounded enough to carry into seasons to come. Here’s why we chose them - and why they work.

🌵 Why This Palette

Back to Earth
Western tones - saddle browns, desert sun ochres, turquoise blues, and oxblood burgundies - feel like coming home. They echo real landscapes and lived-in textures we’re drawn to. For me, they also nod to my years singing country music - a lifestyle that hums with warmth, grit, and soul.

Depth & Storytelling
These colours aren’t just aesthetic; they carry narrative. Desert landscapes, worn saddlery, mid-century interiors - each hue ties back to a story that runs deeper than “just a nice neutral.”

Longevity
Earthy neutrals balanced with jewel tones never date. Where neon or overly seasonal shades can fade fast, tones of ochre, teal, taupe, and burgundy remain relevant season after season. They’re heritage tones designed to stay with you - not just for now, but for years to come.

Differentiation
In a market saturated with beige, black, and pale pink minimalist bags, Bow’s palette stands apart. It’s bold, refined, and quietly different - timeless while still speaking to the mood of today.

Modern Craft
Our straps take cues from stitched leatherwork, reimagined in pared-back jacquard webbing with cream edging. It’s a quiet design signature - a nod to craft, not costume - letting the bags do the talking.

Connected to Life
These hues reflect not only what we carry, but how we live. From terracotta interiors to jewel-toned fashion, the Bow palette bridges fashion and home, grounding modern life in warmth and authenticity.

⚖️ The Watch-Outs

  • Go too literal (fringe, cowboy motifs) and Western can feel gimmicky. We’ve avoided that, choosing instead to translate Western colours into a modern context.

  • Moods may shift - but this palette endures. These are heritage tones that remain versatile long after Western cools off.

Our take: this palette isn't a passing moment; it's built to last.

✨ In Summary

The Bow Launch Palette is more than a set of colours - it’s a story. One that honours heritage while looking forward, balancing relevance and timelessness, boldness and utility.
